HAWAII JOURNALS
Pepperdine used his journal very frequently when he traveled to Hawaii. In the journal entries from this portion, he focused not only on the side of business in which his trip was mainly focused on, but he also made many observations of the land and people. He experienced many traditions by the people involving food. He experienced greetings involving the lei. He notes the pure music by six Hawaiian men is extremely genuine. Many of his journals focused more on the side of business in Hawaii. He notes many times in his journals the opportunity for business because of the many different demographics of people on the island. When he is traveling around Hawaii, he notes the beauty of the islands. The color and the beauty of the nature that graces the location. The cliffs he mentions on the island Hilo reach 200 feet high. Pepperdine enjoys Hawaii and specific islands like Hilo and Maui.
